My musical journey began in earnest at the age of 10. My father is a guitar player and singer and I took an interest in what he was doing. He showed me some chords and scales, and introduced me to the 12 bar blues. We would take turns playing chords and improvising lead licks. I was hooked instantly.

Throughout my teen years I continued developing my skills and understanding. I took up singing like my father. I learned a great deal of cover songs by artists such as Jack Johnson, Hootie and the Blowfish, and Leonard Cohen. I played electric guitar in bands. I learned many great pop and rock tunes in the process.

It was in my teen years that I also got into music production and composition. My parents gave me an audio interface and some music software for Christmas one year. I would spend hours in my room recording and experimenting. I read books on songwriting and music composition and learned how to craft my own songs.

After I graduated high school, I decided to take my music skills to the next level. I enrolled in the contemporary music and technology program at Selkirk College. Here I developed a solid musical foundation. I learned about things like ear training, sight reading, and music theory. I studied diligently and graduated as the top guitarist.

While in college I also gained much experience playing guitar and bass in bands and on recordings. This experience is just as valuable as classroom study and instruction. Iā€™d go so far as to say that it is even more valuable.

My major in school was music production. Selkirk College has a world class studio available for students to practice in. I spent many hours here and learned about the various pieces of audio equipment and how to use them properly. I continued to use this valuable knowledge after I graduated to produce music.

In the last few years of my life I have decided to take up the classical guitar. I have absolutely fallen in love with this style of guitar. The classical guitar produces a beautiful sound and many beautiful pieces have been written for the instrument. It makes for great ambience music and also makes for great concert performances. I have spent the last few years practicing many hours a day on the instrument and have built up a solid repertoire that I use to play private events such as weddings.

Lake Country is the place that I now call home. I have been here for over ten years and absolutely love this community. I believe that it is one of the most beautiful places on the planet. I hope that I can be a positive influence on this community by sharing my wealth of knowledge and experience with all of those who wish to partake in the magic of music.
